The 2013 Land Awards Gala will be held on October 25, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver. The Land Awards recognize initiatives that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and collaboration in sustainable land use in British Columbia.

Tony Stewart (pictured right), CEO and Proprietor of Quails’ Gate Winery, will talk about his family’s farming history in the Okanagan Valley over the past century, and how each of his company’s decisions involve choices and trade-offs regarding sustainability. He will use his own story to illustrate how the kinds of complex decision-making we engage in all the time looks for a BC estate winery business that is trying to do the right thing by the land, the community, the industry, and its own financial prosperity.
